This is a blog about my experience in creating a Business As Mission company.
As my graduation from college approached this spring, I found myself searching for post-graduation options, such as experiences and/or paths that would enable me to use my natural abilities combined with my passion for serving others and creating sustainable patterns of good and success in the world around me. I had entertained various options, such as AmeriCorps programs and other similar positions, but nothing significantly stirred me and I didn’t feel a strong connection with any of the positions I was pursuing. Then, completely by random chance, I was working in Career Services and I came across a posting for a company who was looking for someone to help them develop a business (my skills and education) to bring to China (a place I am uniquely drawn to). Perfect! I pursued this opportunity, and through detailed discussions with close friends and family (and many sleepless nights), I chose to take this risky position. It meant sacrificing known income and stability for a future full of uncertainty and the unknown, but I have pursued my passions and haven’t yet looked back!
